About Us
Stemble is a proudly PEI-based EdTech startup reimagining how students learn in higher education. Our product is a highly sophisticated teaching and learning platform that connects students, instructors, and teaching assistants in a collaborative learning environment powered by AI. The software combines the functionality of a course management system with a homework platform, offering automated grading (using AI and algorithmic grading) and unique feedback at scale. This means that students get a personalized, modern learning experience that actually meets them where they’re at.
About the Role
We’re looking for an Academic Content Developer to help shape the future of science education on the Stemble platform. This is a multifaceted role that blends content creation, faculty and student support, customer success, and product collaboration. You’ll be building homework and assessments, supporting students, meeting with instructors to ensure success and finding creative ways to improve how our platform works. This would be a great role for a recent biology/life sciences/kinesiology graduate with a background in general and organic chemistry courses.
Responsibilities and duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Content Development:
- Design and develop both Instructor-provided and Evergreen content to be used in Stemble’s teaching and learning platform.
- Ensure that all reviewed content meets our quality standards and pedagogical best practices.
- Review and provide feedback on other content developers’ work.
Account Management:
- Work with Sales to transition customers who have committed to using Stemble.
- Hold onboarding and training sessions for instructors and TAs on course operation and content development.
- Connect with instructors regularly to discuss ongoing course development and assist with course operations.
Customer Support:
- Provide consistent support in course management and timely content adjustments.
- Respond to and support both students’ and instructors’ Stemble questions.
- Create standard responses to students and instructors to expedite Stemble’s response times.
- Write knowledge base articles to tackle both students’ and instructors’ most common issues.
Other:
- Create new ways to use the current tools and provide feedback to the product team on ways to improve. Where possible, create tools that make your day and those of others easier.
- Develop and share best practices with internal and external team members to continually improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of our processes.
- Participate in “Stemble Learns”, our regular internal presentations to each other about the things we love.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and take on other duties as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- A background in Biology, Life Sciences, Kinesiology, Science Education, Instructional Design, or a related discipline, with a knowledge of general and organic chemistry.
- Experience creating educational content - rubrics, assignments, labs, examinations - especially in digital or interactive formats.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in EdTech, higher education, or SaaS is a strong asset.
- French language skills are an asset.
- You love to learn new things both independently and as part of a team.
Why Join Stemble?
- Be part of a mission-driven remote company transforming science education.
- Enjoy the agility of a startup, with the thoughtful approach of a team born on the East Coast.
- Work with kind, smart, and collaborative people who are great at what they do but don’t take themselves too seriously.
- A chance to do meaningful work that helps students succeed every day.
